The Hereford FC assistant manager Steve Jenkins reflected on a hard-earned 3-2 victory over relegated Wantage this afternoon.
Jenkins operated without the pitch side input of boss Peter Beadle who was serving a one match touchline ban following his red-card at Didcot.
The Bulls were expected to win against their lowly opponents, however, a gutsy and resilient Wantage side frustrated Hereford who had lifted the title with a tremendous victory at Salisbury seven days ago.
Hereford remain 16 points clear of Taunton, whom they visit next week in a top-of-the-table encounter. Despite having already been crowned champions, the Bulls will be looking for revenge after suffering their only league defeat of the campaign to Taunton back in January.
