The Bulls will make the 133 mile trip to AFC Kempston Rovers in the 2nd Qualifying Round of the Emirates FA Cup tomorrow.
Peter Beadles men progressed with an 8-0 win over Godalming in the previous round, whilst Kempston Rovers needed a reply to get past Newport Pagnell Town in the Preliminary Round, before despatching Wisbech Town of the United Counties League with a 2-1 win in the latest round.
Hereford will be boosted by the arrival of Jamie Bird and the return of Adam Page, both of whom are available for tomorrow.
Striker Gethyn Hill will be absent as he hasn’t been granted permission to play in the FA Cup from his parent club Weston-Super-Mare.
Kempston ply their trade in the Evo-Stik League South East, recently losing 2-1 to Hartley Wintney, whom The Bulls beat 4-1 in the FA Vase in 5th Round in February 2016.
The ‘Walnut Boys’ currently sit in 12th position, having won two, drawn one and lost two so far this season, they are currently unbeaten on home soil.
Jake Newman, who is often deployed as a lone striker, has already got five FA Cup goals under his belt this season, scoring a goal in the original Preliminary Round game versus Newport Pagnell, before grabbing a hat-trick during the 4-1 replay win. He also scored an 82nd minute winner against Wisbech in the last round. So far the former Rushden & Diamonds man has scored seven goals this term in all competition.
Jimmy Stoyles and Gary Flinn have been joint managers at Kempston since November 2013. Jimmy is a former Rushden & Diamonds and Northampton Town academy coach, and also managed Newport Pagnell where he met Gary Flinn, who was then a player.
Upon hanging up his boots Gary Flinn teamed up with Jimmy as joint-manager. Gary, a former Luton Town player is tipped to be the next long-term manager once Jimmy departs.
