The Hereford boss Peter Beadle was pleased by many “positives” from the HFA Challenge Cup victory over Tenbury United at Edgar Street last night.
Tenbury were utterly outclassed in a 15-1 win for the Bulls, with Hereford fielding a very youthful side, and striker Jamie Cuss also returned after a long injury lay-off enjoying 30 minutes of action.
Adam Page (5), Lance Smith (4), Jamie Bird (2), George Hayes, James Hancocks, Mike Symons and a Sam Williams own-goal completed a record score for Hereford FC.
Indeed, Adam Page bagged the fastest goal seen at Edgar Street for 26 years as his opening strike was officially timed at 15.8 seconds. Only Peter Heritage has scored a quicker opening goal at the home of the Bulls. The “wing-commander” bagging a goal inside 14 seconds of a Division Four match against Lincoln in September 1991.
