Bulls fans will have a rare opportunity to bid on a piece of memorabilia over the coming week, when a football signed by over twenty Hereford United players in 1969, including John Charles, goes up for auction.
Dating back to the 1968-69 season, the football includes a host of famous Hereford players including Ronnie Radford, Dudley Tyler, Albert Derrick, Mick McLaughlin, Colin Addison and John Charles amongst others.
Roger Parckar of Dawley’s, a communications company based in Ross-On-Wye, and a keen sponsor fo the Hereford FC Academy, has kindly donated the ball to the club, with all proceeds from the sale of the ball going to the Hereford FC Academy.
The ball will be auctioned off during the Hereford FC Academy Raceday that is being held at Hereford Racecourse on Monday 11th February.
Anyone interested in placing a bid is invited to email their bid to [email protected].
Roger spotted the ball at an auction that he was attending in London. His intention was to buy a painting, but when he spotted that the ball was included in the lot he decided to change his plans!
The ball was originally donated as part of a fundraising initiative in 1969 by Hereford United Director, Arthur Bush.
Paper clippings from the time are included with the ball that comes framed in a display case.
