Hereford FC Women continued their winning run with a comprehensive win over Meadow Park Ladies at Old School Lane on Sunday afternoon.
With keeper Sarah Reed nursing an injury, Katie Wood played the full game in goal but had little to do as the visitors rarely challenged the home goal. The home side were off the mark on 14 minutes as a box to box move left Frances Layton clear to slot the ball home, and a minute later Jess Kenny made it two after smashing home a loose ball.
An own goal was then recorded as a looping effort hit the crossbar before rebounding into the net off the back of the unfortunate goalkeeper. Kenny added her second just before halftime with the second half set to become a rout.
Top scorer Roxana Dinescu grabbed the first of her six within minutes of the restart after coming off the bench and had completed a hat-trick in 17 minutes. She completed the second trio with a well-placed header that evaded the keeper with Kenny, completing her hat trick, and a second own goal also adding to the tally.
Rhian James also netted her first goal for the club on 65 minutes, to the delight of coaches Scott Russell and Ben Archer, and added a second late on with Evie Jones completing the fifteen goal scoreline in added time.
The side go on to face Evesham side TDMS FC Ladies next Sunday at The De Montford School, WR11 1DQ, with a 2pm kick-off, before taking on Welland Ladies at Old School Lane on Sunday, October 7th.
