COMMUNITY | Bulls to Support Level Playing Field Week of Action

19th February 2019 by Jamie Griffiths - Club News,Community

Hereford FC will support the Level Playing Field Week of Action at our home game against Darlington on Saturday 9th March.

Working in partnership with Hereford FC Disabled Supporters Association and Level Playing Field, Hereford FC continues to promote inclusion and diversity at Hereford FC matches whilst working hard to remove discrimination both home and away.

The Vanarama National League North game against Darlington on Saturday 9th March will see Hereford FC players warm up in Level Playing Field t-shirts.

Hereford FC DSA representatives, Christine Eckley and Nicky Evans, will then lead the players onto the pitch ahead of kick off.

The Bulls encourage inclusion and diversity through staff, players and volunteers. The club now provides accessible seating for supporters living with dementia or with limited mobility and there are also plans to create a quiet time room for fans with autism.

The club prides itself on the support it gives to disabled supporters and by working in conjunction with the Hereford FC DSA, Level Playing Field and Fans for Diversity we are looking to continually improve facilities for Disabled supporters over the next three years.

Hereford FC support Show Racism the Red Card and International Women’s Day and during the 2018/2019 season we have held first team matches for our women’s team at Edgar Street.

Hereford FC DSA provide blankets and ponchos for supporters at home games and our blind supporters can listen to audio of the game in block c of the Merton Stand. The club also became Dementia Friendly in 2018 with plans of holding Dementia Sessions with Commercial Manager Martin Brain during 2019.

Hereford FC General Manager James Watts said “We are delighted to support the week of action as we believe we are now one of the leading non-league clubs in providing a welcoming environment for disabled supporters. We have had a number of compliments from visiting supporters and we will continue to improve the service that we provide”.
