Pete Beadle has spoken about the ongoing search to find a new left back following the departure of James Bowen, who joined Solihull Moors earlier this week.
“We’ve identified several targets, and we made an offer to one club on Tuesday which got rejected.
“We went back and made a second offer on Wednesday, but again that was rejected, so we need to decide whether to make a third offer, or whether we move on.
“Personally, I don’t think the deal is dead in the water yet, but the player is under contract so we need to do some work to reach an agreement to talk to the player. We’d love to get it done before the weekend.”
Beadle also confirmed that he has the option of bringing in another player on loan to fill the left back position.
“We’ve got an agreement that we can bring in a left back on loan, but that probably won’t happen until after the weekend.
“We’ve got to be patient, but at the same time, we can’t wait too long, we’ll leave it over the weekend and see where we are.”
Beadle also gave an update on a few of the injuries at present.
“Pablo took a knock on Tuesday night, but it looks as thought he’ll be ok to play some part tomorrow, as will Keyon who had a knock during the FA Cup win over Eastleigh.
“Garyn is doing well, but he’ll be out again, as will Calvin who is still suffering with his hamstring.”
